Hi, I’m Timothy Bailey and I am currently coming toward the end of my second year of study at Swansea Metropolitan University, I am studying on the “3D Computer Animation” course and I am looking to go into rendering and compositing in the future, possibly also modelling as I find both areas appeal to me. Last year I appeared in an issue of 3D Artist magazine with one of my models from my first year of a building front (see below).
I had a very early start in 3D while I was still in school and I picked up 3DS Max and spent the following 5 years learning a advancing my skills, also while still in school I picked up Photoshop while working in a graphics company “Service Graphics”. Both programs I continued to use all through college where I studied and got top marks in Multimedia and Computer Aided Design where I also picked up most of the Adobe Suit, AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor which I and my CAD lecturer wrote a book about modelling in, the book is now in its second edition. I went straight from College into University and picked up Maya which I now use as my predominant 3D package but I have picked up a wide variety of programs while studying such as Vue, Matchmover, Nuke and Zbrush to name a few, while also continuing to learn and develop my skills in all Adobe products.
I also have a keen interest in photography which has been a hobby since college and is usually useful in contributing to my 3D work and I have also worked with small businesses from time to time doing freelance work such as website design in Dreamweaver and other graphical work such as business cards and advertising etc.
